About Us

Taoreta 倒れた are a UK experimental music duo combining underground hip-hop, film-score influences and Japanese-inspired storytelling into immersive musical worlds. Comprised of songwriter and vocalist Loaneski and DJ/producer Icon, their work explores politics, spirituality, human nature and the perspectives often overlooked by mainstream culture.

Drawing on a combined three decades of experience across music, broadcasting, live events and youth engagement, the duo have built a reputation for thought-provoking performances and uncompromising creativity. Their collective journey has seen them share stages with artists including GZA of Wu-Tang Clan, Rodney P of London Posse, Lowkey, Skinnyman, Pharoahe Monch, Rah Digga of Flipmode Squad, Blak Twang, TY, P Money, Killah Priest, Lord Finesse of D.I.T.C., Diamond D of D.I.T.C., Amy True and Doc Brown.

In 2022, Taoreta 倒れた introduced their unique vision through the double EP Samurai Nation, a project that resonated with listeners across the globe and established the foundations of their growing creative universe. Their music and storytelling have since been featured by publications including Wordplay Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, Earmilk, Loud Magazine, Tunepical, Sleeping Bag Studios, Blue Rhymez, InYourArea, Albawaba, Spitfire Hip-Hop and MJSHHConnex.

Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, film soundtracks and underground music culture, Taoreta 倒れた continue to blur the boundaries between music, narrative and visual art. Whether through records, live performances or multimedia projects, the duo remain committed to creating thought-provoking experiences that challenge convention and invite audiences to see the world through a different lens.
